Adrian, I am going to disagree with your statement that you can stop looking at your numbers/percents. As an analogy to weight loss, you can stop looking at it so constantly, depending on other measures (like how your clothes fit, or how much excess cash is lying in your bank account or so) to see if you are still doing okay, but if you don't run the numbers from time to time (say quarterly) you will slowly erode as you slowly creep into "bad habits" again that you either "miss" or "find" with your new money.

For instance, you say you lost some in the recent market turn-down and are selling one of your homes somewhere - that tells me that your 20%, 25% and 5% numbers have all changed and that there is a good chance that the home you are selling no longer fit into your scenario or you needed cash or something for some reason you haven't discussed yet.

So, I disagree that you can stop crunching the numbers. If you're too shy to share the $ numbers with us, you can at least run the numbers and share the percents, can't you? (a wag anyway)...Not that I'm asking you to do that, but perhaps the other readers who are not part of the 7MITs might be interested in seeing your stuff more than ours.

@ Adrian, with reference to the new licence, parents gone and lamppost event, I love it :). We all have those kind of stories don't we?

There is a scripture found in Numbers 32:23 that states "...be sure you sin will find you out."
